The acreage seeded for harvest in 1919 was the largest on record up to that time. For the 1919 to 1924 creps, seeded acreage declined from 77 million to 56 million acres. Then it rose to 71 mil lion acres in 1928 and during the 1924-32 period averaged 67 million acres. For the 1934 crop, seeded acreage was brought down to 64 million acres.
