Book excerpt: On August 26th, 2005, I traveled with my two sons to Auschwitz, the Nazi death camp where over one million Jews were killed. The three of us made the trip by train, just as my parents were forced to do in 1942, first my father, with convoy 4 and later my mother with convoy 24. At the time of their deportation I was 8 and a half years old. I have written this story to ensure that my parents' lives: struggles, triumphs and final journey - as well as that of thousands of others – will be remembered for generations to come.
