The land was formed over the centuries into flat land and hills by rivers beyond and by creeks and springs, while waiting for animals and mankind to arrive. This land is located in the northeastern margin of today's Fayette County, and lies on a high hill that looks down toward the south into the bottom lands of a crossing. The struggle on this small piece of land began with the movement of animals that needed a convenient place for water that was crossable during the seasons. This perfect crossing flows through the south eastern side of the present town of Round Top located between two high hills. This crossing was the home of native American Indians, American settlers and German immigrants.
