Sebastian implores him to leave things to Unit Zero, but Duncan is stubborn and goes down to the Red District to find the young Were. Sebastian and his partner follow and then begin the mission that will either save the young Kacey Maddox or doom them all. In the Red District, they realize there is more happening than expected. They become embroiled in multiple plots that are destroying much of the supernatural world. Unable to find the answers they want; they continue working to uncover the deceptions and subterfuge that has kept the supernatural society in a vice.
