This book was released on 2016 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Comminution energy accounts for 35% of the utilised energy in mining of copper and gold. There exist potential economic and environmental benefits that can be realised by reducing the energy consumed by comminution processes. Appropriate measurement of energy efficiency for identifying the energy saving opportunities is a challenge. The achievable minimum energy consumption in breakage was used to measure the practical energy efficiency of equipment and circuits at mines. This study focuses on the application of size specific energy (SSE) to measure and benchmark the energy consumption.
