Book excerpt: "The purpose of this project is to establish believers' biblical view of church through sermons on ecclesiology. Their biblical view of church will allow them to understand the church better and live a healthier spiritual life. The researcher believes that sermons on ecclesiology are important because believers as saved people of God can live a sound spiritual life and carry out the mission of expanding the kingdom of God on earth when their perception of church is biblical and sound. Besides the researcher's church Tucson Good Church, many Korean immigrant churches in the U.S. have experienced confusion and entanglement. The causes of such confusion and entanglement can be various, but the following problems lie dormant in the root of the entanglement. These immigrant churches sometimes get too hung up on quantitative growth, focus more on church programs and tasks instead of training believers spiritually, and exclude lay believers from the process of operating the churches. Moreover, there is not enough training for lay leaders, and believers do not have enough time to fellowship harmoniously due to their busy schedules. Therefore, the researcher carried out this research project to specifically study the problems and overcome them. This research work is significant because it will show believers the examples of Christian faith based on the biblical ecclesiology, so that the believers can possess a sound church life. Moreover, it will show the importance of relationship with Christ and importance of living a Christ-centered life. In addition, it will provide a framework in which believers can find their place in ministry and carry out their responsibilities faithfully. Furthermore, believers will fellowship and become one in Christ's love and clearly understand that they form the body of Christ. These points are significant because they unify churches. The subject of this research is Tucson Good Church members attending Sunday services. The researcher created sermon plans for this training, executed the plan for 10 weeks, and analyzed the results of the training. A pretest was administered to the whole congregation before the sermons started to note the believers' understanding. Then, for the next 10 weeks, the researcher trained his congregation with the prepared sermons. After completing the training, the researcher administered a posttest to those who had perfect attendance during the 10-week training to measure their change in understanding the subject matter. According to the results of the study, the participants' understanding in church growth changed, and they realized that the priority ministry of church is to build up people. Also, they improved in the area of understanding the body of Christ. Moreover, they acknowledged that lay leader positions are equal and mutually dependent, and believers' fellowship is one of important ministries that practice the love of Christ and take care of others in Christ. In conclusion, the researcher discovered that preaching or sermon on ecclesiology is an appropriate strategy to systematically enhance believers' understanding, so that they can have a healthy and sound church life"--Abstract.
