The Woods inter-married with the Davis, Smithson, Frew, Harris and other families in the area. Descendants live in North Carolina and Virginia. The author descends from the Wood family through Edward Wood, Sr.'s third son, John Wood (b.1735) and John's eldest son, Joseph Wood (1754-1822). The bulk of the information concerns this line of descent.
