Book excerpt: This survey part of the thesis contains some background to the studies on value distribution of solutions of complex linear differential equations. We obtain conditions for homogeneous equations under which all non-trivial solutions are of infinite order of growth. Further, we show that the order of the generic solution of a certain type of nonhomogeneous second order equation is infinite.
