This book was released on 1990 with total page 42 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 1988, the Commandant of the Marine Corps convened a Force Structure Study Group to provide recommendations on how the Marine Corps should be organized to fight in the near and mid-term. One of the Group's recommendations was the consolidation of the Fleet Marine Force information gathering and intelligence processing and disseminating assets into one organization, the Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Intelligence Group (SRI Group). Though this 'Warfighting Enhancement' was one of the Commandant's principal initiatives, some individuals have not been convinced of the SRI Group's usefulness. This study seeks to overcome some of the institutional resistance by examining the rationale for the SRI Group, analyzing the intelligence architecture needed to support the Marine Corps' concept for defeating future threats, ('Maneuver Warfare') and proposing a concept of operations. Specific roles and divisions of labor for SRI Group representatives and MAGTF staff principals will be presented. Finally, I will offer some possibilities for the future direction of the SRI Group. Keywords: Military publications, Periodical reports. (EG).
